Following the worldwide success of English Vinglish, Eros International and R. Balki, once again come together for the filmmaker’s ambitious venture Shamitabh.
Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Dhanush and Akshara Haasan, the film will release on February 6, 2015.
Shamitabh, one of the most anticipated films of next year, is a drama which also marks the acting debut of Akshara Haasan, daughter of Kamal Haasan and Sarika.
Commenting on the announcement Balki said, “This film is my third collaboration with Eros. They had partnered me in Cheeni Kum, English Vinglish and now Shamitabh.
Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Radhakrishnan Damani, Abhishek Bachchan, Gauri and myself are glad to have Eros as the co-producer on this project. The film couldn’t have got a better marketing and distribution team to back it.”
The film also marks Balki’s third directorial venture with superstar Amitabh Bachchan.
